I have a serious Krypto issue. I collect anything super-petty. And then this double whammy comes at me when I am shopping in Plymouth Meeting mall.

I read through it I kept thinking, "I know this style." So I flip back to the credits and it's Mike Kazaleh, who did some of the old comics I used to read back in the day. Even the Mighty Mutanimals/TMNT stuff I liked so much. This totally makes me need to write him a fan letter.

Yeah its the only character of those that I can't pinpoint to an actual comic yet. Even the octopus is an actual recurring character from the Aquaman series, named Topo. I never heard of the kangaroo before, but they dont usually make stuff up for these as they have the whacked out 50's to draw the characters from who already existed.

One has to wonder about this...

I have a vague recollection that they rode giant kangaroos on Paradise Island where Wonder Woman comes from, but I can't quite confirm.

I did find reference to kangaroos and Wonder Woman. From a online interview with someone working on the wonder woman movie.

"superhero: So are we going to see some of the Wonder Woman basics, the tiara, the lasso, the invisible plane and on the island is she going to be riding a kangaroo?

LM: Well we haven’t put any kangaroos on the island, sorry to say. But her arsenal is there, she has bullet proof bracelets, she’ll be deflecting bullets. She has her tiara which she makes use of, she uses her lasso as well and she uses her invisible jet. I think the one thing we did without was the spinning in place transformation. I’m sorry for anyone who loves that but we gave her just a slightly more practical transformation. But everything else is there, except the kangaroos."

I want the motherfucking kangaroos.

Why does a dog need to protect his identity with a mask, when none of the other animals do?

Actually, it is because he has a very identifying mark on his forehead, which would give away what dog he was, and that Bruce Wayne owned Batman's dog.
He was originally the dog of a kidnap victim who Batman used to help find his master, and then was given to Batman at the end of the adventure.

Is he the same dog old Bruce has for protection in Batman Beyond?

No it seems that he ends up naming all his dogs Ace after the original dies. The original was a German Shepherd but the Beyond Ace is more some kind of guard dog with bigger jowls. Kind of like how he seems to keep collecting Robins...

That octopus looks like he chilled to at least a 4-hour stint of Shpongle. Maybe my eyes will be that chill at the end of the semester.

If I ever end up on one of those game shows that have the "lifeline" I know who I'll be calling if I get any Super Pets questions. ;-)
