7 cervical bones yes, but more impressive in my opinion are the muscles in its neck and the vascular system for getting blood to its brain and air to lungs and food to stomach. hehe strange little animal

Having only seven cervicals is probably evolutionary beneficial. Spinal column discs are prone to deterioration and are more fragile than the actual bony column. Curious, but makes good sense.
